Storyline In the not-too-distant future, the world was almost ravaged by climate change and resource depletion. The once-great civilizations of the past have crumbled, and the survivors have been forced to scavenge for resources and rebuild their lives in small, isolated communities. Humanity was swept back in time hundreds of years. Still, it was only a matter of time before three tribes began to flourish and, as humanity does, fight for world domination: The Frozen Vanguard, The Stormbringers, and The Waterborne. Despite their differences, they all share one goal: to prevent the world from collapsing entirely and give Mother Earth the respect she deserves. You are the leader of the tribe of your chosen faction. Your people look to you for guidance and protection, and it is up to you to ensure their survival in this harsh and unforgiving world. As you work to rebuild and expand your village, you must carefully manage your resources and minimize your environmental impact. Every time you engage in an activity with a carbon footprint, you generate a certain amount of CO2 emissions that threaten the world's fragile ecosystem. To offset these emissions and protect the planet, you need to plant trees on your land to absorb CO2. As your village grows and becomes more successful, you will have more resources at your disposal and will be able to offset a considerable amount of CO2 emissions, but you'll need land for it. Here the human in you comes back into play: you'll have to fight for it. The game's ultimate goal is to become the leader of the world's most successful and environmentally sustainable village, offsetting as much CO2 as possible. Not only will you help Mother Earth, but you will also be greatly rewarded for doing so. As always, you are not alone in your quest. Other village leaders are competing with you for resources and territory, and you must be prepared to defend your people against their aggression. Only the most robust and resourceful leaders will emerge victorious in this struggle for survival. As you play the game, you will learn more about the causes of Earth's downfall. You will also discover the power of cooperation and the importance of working together to preserve the planet and its resources for future generations. Carbon offset & Compensate to Win In the game, each plot of land has room to plant trees around the village. These trees absorb a certain amount of CO2. The player can upgrade buildings, research new weapons and create armies, but only if they have compensated for the CO2 that these actions will emit. To speed this up, the players can burn real aCO2 tokens, reducing the waiting time for these actions and offsetting their carbon footprint. This feature will be limited, resulting in an extensive $aCO2 burn. We call this: Compensate to Win
